BMX Double Race @ Can-Am's Track on Saturday, August 28th

Due to all the race, we have decided to have a double race on Saturday, August 28th.  We are also having a local band out at the track that evening.  The band's name is SEDRAH and are out of Lapeer, Michigan.  They were recommended by some of our riders and are willing to donate their time to come out to Can-Am and play.  We are asking for a $1 donation minimum admission which we will donate half of the money to the St. Clair County Child Abuse & Neglect Council and the other half will go to Can-Am.  The money will be presented during Roof-Sit on behalf of Can-Am BMX riders.  This is a great organization and all the money stays in St. Clair County to help abused children.  Their motto is: "It shouldn't hurt to be a kid"  Please join us for this very important event and feel free to invite all your friends, neighbors, and family to try to help us support our local band, SEDRAH, abused children in St. Clair County who need help, and our BMX track.  For more information on the St. Clair County Child Abuse & Neglect Council (CANN Council) visit:  www.sccstopchildabuse.org

Trophy buy back.....

Do you have trophies at home collecting dust?  Are you looking to sell them back to the track?  We are looking for good condition and clean trophies to buy back.  We will pay $2 per trophy in cash or BMX tokens that can be spent like cash at our concessions booth.  This program really helps out the track so we are able to give more than just the top three race winners a trophy.  Please consider selling or donating your trophies back to the track for future riders and we seem to be growing our younger age group at this time.  The "trophy" is very important to the new and young riders at our track and we would like to give all the riders a trophy if we can.

We Survived our 2010 Regional Race

Can-Am BMX Can-Am BMX will be hosted a Midwest Regional NBL Race on June 4, 5, and 6th.  Inspite of the rain, we were able to get in all of the races.  Thank you to all the volunteers that helped pull this event off and all the riders who came out to race.  We appreciate your company and hope you had some family fun, too!  We made the Times herald twice!!  Here are the links http://www.thetimesherald.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery?Avis=BP&Dato=20100603&Kategori=PHOTOGALLERIES&Lopenr=6030802&Ref=PH and http://www.thetimesherald.com/article/20100607/SPORTS/6070315/Noetzel-BMX-regional-a-success Thank you again for all the hard work and help!  If you know anyone who is interested in sponsoring us we would be happy to advertise their business at our track. We are a 501(c) (3) and 509(a)(2) so donations are tax deductible. Please contact, Holly Clause at treasurer@canambmx.org if you would like to find out more information about donating or sponsoring Can-Am BMX Racing so we can keep Can-Am running for future riders.

 Can you help us?

Can-Am has been broken into again!
They stole our spare track bikes, our brand new 2-way radios, and many other items.  Please let us know if you hear of any tips on these theives.  We are unable to replace the stolen items due to financial reasons so we will just have to do the best we can for the rest of the year.  The items were not insured.  Hopefully, we will catch the theives and recover our items with the help of our riders keeping their eyes and ears open for any leads.

Practice fee: $4
Race fee: $8-points only and $10-points+trophy (top 3 only)

How can sign up?
You may sign up at any practice or race. Just bring a parent and a copy of your birth certificate (to verify your age) to be sent to the NBL.  Some sections can be blacked out for your protection.
Can I try without joining?
You may ride the track on a day only basis during practice if your parents accompany you and sign a waiver of liability.

What equipment will I need to ride the track?
You will need a full face helmet, long pants, long sleeved shirt, closed toe shoes, and a bike (BMX race style is prefered but we can make any BMX style or youth bike work).  Non-required options include: gloves, elbow pads, knee pads, and a chest protector.
Can I get equipment I need at the track?
Some bikes and helmets are avaialable on a first come basis. Be sure to wear long pants and a long sleeve shirt. Bring gloves and have fun!
What are the Race/Practice time(s)?
Practice is usually on Thursdays from 6-8pm and races are usually on Saturday from 6-8pm however the schedule does vary due to rain and other scheduled State and National races so check the website for the latest schedule updates.  All cancellations will be posted on the website by 3pm on the day in question.  Registration for the races is from 5-6pm with the race starting at 6:30pm or ASAP.  If you want to register for the race but can't make it to the track before 6pm, you can call ahead and make arrangements (see our contact page)
What if I can not race every day?
You may race as often or as seldom as your schedule permits.  You pay only when you show up for a practice or race.  Also, with your NBL membership, you may race or practice at other NBL sanctioned tracks.
Who will I race against?
You will race against riders of your own age and ability from ages 3-63.  Riders are divided into 3 main classes: Rookies, Novice, and Experts.  The Rookie class is made to help a rider learn the techniques of BMX racing.  As a rider gains experience, they will move up to the next class.  Please ask for details about classes and move up points since there is a lot involved in this process.
What is the NBL?
The NBL (National Bicycle League) is the sanctioning body for the tracks. The NBL sets the rules used at each NBL BMX race.  For more information on the NBL www.nbl.org
What is the Michigan NBL?
